This addition aims to bolster the company's leadership as it expands its global platform of cloud- and carrier-neutral data centres, colocation, and interconnection services.
Bolze brings over 30 years of senior leadership experience across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. His expertise includes global operations, asset management, and large-scale infrastructure development — skills that align with the increasing demands of the data centre industry.
Most recently, Bolze served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure Portfolio Operations and Asset Management at Blackstone. As a founding partner of Blackstone’s infrastructure division, he worked closely with portfolio companies to improve operational performance and now serves as an executive advisor to the firm.
Prior to Blackstone, Bolze spent 24 years at General Electric, holding several senior roles, including President and CEO of GE Power & Water, overseeing a global organization valued at approximately $28 billion. His responsibilities spanned power generation, renewables, distributed power, water, and nuclear operations, and he was a member of GE’s Corporate Executive Council.
Bolze holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is also founder and CEO of Standish Spring Investments, focusing on early-stage growth companies, and serves on the boards of Signature Aviation and Tallgrass Energy.
His appointment comes at a crucial time for the data centre sector, as increasing digital demand intensifies the need for reliable energy supply and infrastructure capacity. Bolze’s extensive experience in energy and infrastructure positions him well to support Digital Realty’s continued growth and resilience.
