The Huawei Cloud Summit Northern Africa has successfully wrapped up, drawing over 600 decision-makers from both public and private sectors across more than 10 countries. The event served as a crucial platform for envisioning the region’s digital future and exploring opportunities for rapid technological advancement.
Since launching its Egypt Region in 2024, Huawei Cloud has experienced remarkable growth in Northern Africa, expanding its footprint by 140% within a year. The platform now supports more than 300 customers and 200 partners engaged in innovative projects, while also training over 15,000 developers to accelerate the region’s shift towards intelligent digital solutions. Huawei Cloud has established itself as the leading public cloud provider in the region.

This pioneering project, born out of a collaboration between industry experts, training providers, and placement specialists, will build Africa’s first scalable data centre talent pool — sourced, trained, certified, and placed in jobs.

Africa's digital economy is evolving rapidly, with artificial intelligence (AI) emerging as a key driver of transformation across industries. As businesses increasingly adopt AI and generative AI (GenAI) solutions, the demand for robust, scalable and efficient data centre infrastructure is at an all-time high. The challenge lies in ensuring that data centres can meet the rising computational demands while maintaining efficiency and reliability.
According to Gartner, global spending on data centre systems is expected to increase by almost a quarter (23.2%) in 2025, largely due to AI-driven growth.
