Gallagher Security launches Command Centre v9.40

18 November 2025

Gallagher Security has announced the release of Command Centre v9.40, a major update to its flagship site management platform designed to support increasingly complex and high-density access control environments.

Gallagher continues to push the boundaries of innovation with this new version, which introduces advanced features for the Controller 7000 product range, including smarter maintenance tools, expanded door support, and future-ready architecture.

The latest update significantly enhances the scalability and performance of Gallagher’s Controller 7000 range, which includes Standard, Enhanced, and High Security variants. One of the key improvements is the support for up to 24 doors per controller through optional licensing, more than doubling the previous limit of 10. Gallagher’s Chief Executive, Mark Junge, emphasised that this expansion allows larger installations to be managed more efficiently, reducing infrastructure costs and simplifying system architecture. He assured that even at full capacity, the controllers deliver high performance and rapid access response times, even in demanding environments.

Junge highlighted that the Controller 7000 platform was designed with the future in mind, and v9.40 demonstrates Gallagher’s commitment to continuous innovation. The new release also boosts the number of HBUS readers supported from 20 to 40, and OSDP readers from 16 to 32. It further increases inter-controller communication capacity from 60 to 100, enabling larger, more complex controller networks without sacrificing performance or manageability.

Another notable feature introduced with v9.40 is Lock Cycle Counting, a proactive maintenance tool aimed at preventing lock failures. Jim Rayner, Gallagher’s Senior Product Manager, explained that lock failures often occur at inconvenient times, leading to costly repairs. The new feature helps manage lock longevity proactively, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

The update also includes integration with Microsoft Entra ID, enabling single sign-on capabilities through OpenID Connect. Mark Junge noted that this integration aligns with modern cloud-first identity strategies, allowing organisations to streamline user management, enhance security with multi-factor authentication, and adopt conditional access policies more easily.
