As the global demand for high-capacity Artificial Intelligence compute accelerates, Africa stands at a pivotal threshold to establish sovereign AI capabilities with next-generation AI infrastructure.

Joining forces in a landmark strategic partnership and joint deployment, Stratos Lab (a South African neocloud provider), ECOBLOX (a global innovator in AI compute infrastructure) and Digital Parks Africa (a premier South African open access, carrier neutral, data centre) have launched that they describe as Africa’s most powerful AI Cloud.

Delivering Exascale-performance (7.2 EFLOPS) Sovereign AI for Africa, the implementation will be powered by 50+ high-performance NVIDIA B300 HGX GPU servers (400+ GPUs) from GIGABYTE, an ECOBLOX ecosystem partner.

This groundbreaking collaboration establishes a new benchmark for AI Clouds in Africa, de-risking infrastructure investments and positioning South Africa as the continent’s primary hub for Sovereign AI compute. By uniting leading experts across AI infrastructure, cloud orchestration, and Tier-3+ rated colocation facilities, the partnership directly addresses Africa’s most critical AI scaling bottlenecks, including power density, high-density cooling, and extended hardware lead times. Furthermore, delivering a performance of 7.2 EFLOPS enables African businesses to deploy locally, delivering lower latency and reduced operational costs across the African continent and the global market.

A Comprehensive Ecosystem for Sovereign AI

The joint deployment will deliver a full-stack, end-to-end framework purpose-built to handle complex high-performance computing (HPC) and enterprise AI workloads across the region:

  • Ecoblox: AI Infrastructure Solutions — Systems Integration, Modular Infrastructure & Cloud Software Stack: As an NVIDIA Preferred Partner, ECOBLOX brings industry-leading AI system integration, encompassing GPU cluster design, procurement, installation, performance optimization and MSP operations. ECOBLOX’s DCIM and HPC/GPUaaS software stacks, combined with high-density, pre-fab modular infrastructure, deliver rapid turn-key deployment capabilities for cloud and enterprise AI customers.
  • Stratos Lab: High-performance Compute & Ecosystem Orchestration — Leveraging deep technical competence, specialized GPU cluster management, and optimized regional logistics, Stratos Lab drives the service layer, delivering seamless neocloud platforms with BMaaS to full GPUaaS and Managed PaaS capabilities for high-performance AI applications including model training, inferencing and Agent-as-a-Service.
  • Digital Parks Africa: World-Class Colocation & Power Operations — Providing the physical backbone, Digital Parks Africa delivers a robust data centre footprint, highly reliable power management, and carrier-neutral facility foundation required to sustain ultra-dense AI deployments safely and continuously.
  • Giga Computing (a GIGABYTE Group company) — a Taiwanese OEM providing GPU-centric server solutions for 25+ years, with the largest GPU server product portfolio worldwide and certification by AMD, Intel and NVIDIA. Known for its expertise in Tier-1 product quality, thermal and cooling design, GPU compute density scaling, and configuration flexibility, Giga Computing brings the fastest route to market with its innovations and best performance/price ratio for its partners.
