NTT DATA has announced the appointment of Joe Pace as Chief Operating Officer for its Global Data Centers division.

Based in Sacramento, California, Pace will report directly to Doug Adams, President and CEO of NTT Global Data Centers, taking over from Florian Winkler, who recently departed the company. In his new role, Pace will oversee the development and enhancement of global operational functions aimed at increasing scalability, efficiency, and delivering high-quality services to clients worldwide.

Bringing over twenty years of experience in strategic transformation, managing capital-intensive portfolios, leading high-performance teams, and program management, Pace has a proven track record of driving operational excellence. He previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at NTT Global Data Centers, where he led numerous strategic initiatives and change management programmes across the organisation.

Doug Adams praised Pace’s leadership and deep understanding of the company’s operating model, highlighting his ability to anticipate challenges and architect scalable solutions. Adams also expressed gratitude to Winkler for his contributions in integrating operations globally, which have laid a strong foundation for the company’s next stage of growth.

Joe Pace, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with two decades of service and multiple command roles, has extensive experience leading infrastructure initiatives with hyperscale data centre providers and managing supply chain operations. His appointment reflects NTT Global Data Centers’ ongoing commitment to operational transformation and innovation centred on client needs.

“I’m honoured to take on this role at such a pivotal time for our company and the entire data centre industry,” said Pace. “Our mission is to deliver resilient, sustainable, and scalable infrastructure that enables our clients to succeed in a digital-first world. I look forward to continuing the great work Florian started and collaborating with our global operations teams to bring this vision to life.”

NTT Global Data Centers operates one of the largest data centre platforms in the world, with facilities spanning the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. The company remains committed to investing in hyperscale and AI-ready infrastructure to support the next wave of digital transformation.
