The London Internet Exchange (LINX), a premier Internet Exchange Point (IXP) operator dedicated to enhancing digital infrastructure across the UK, Africa, and the US, has appointed Patrick Mbogo as Business Development Executive for Africa. His role focuses on driving the expansion of LINX’s presence across the continent.

With over 15 years of experience in Africa’s telecom industry, Mbogo joins LINX from Liquid Intelligent Technologies, bringing extensive expertise in business development, project management, submarine cable contracting, and launching new network hubs. He will serve as the primary contact for networks seeking connectivity to LINX’s upcoming IXPs in Nairobi, Mombasa, and soon, Ghana.

“Patrick’s appointment marks a significant step in our mission to expand connectivity and support Africa’s digital transformation. His expertise and vision align perfectly with our goals, and we are confident he will play a key role in our continued growth,” said Jennifer Holmes, CEO of LINX.

“I am excited to join an organization at the forefront of improving internet connectivity in Africa. I look forward to helping LINX expand across the continent, fostering a more connected and digitally empowered region. Expanding connectivity is vital for driving economic growth, education, healthcare, and unlocking new opportunities for millions,” said Mbogo.

LINX continues to invest in African infrastructure, establishing interconnected IXPs in Nairobi (2023), Mombasa (2025), and soon, Accra. These hubs, hosted in major data centres like iColo, Africa Data Centres, IXAfrica, and PAIX, localize internet traffic, improve regional connectivity, and attract major players such as Meta and Starlink.

The upcoming launch of LINX Accra further underscores the company’s commitment to West Africa. Through open, carrier-neutral platforms, LINX aims to reduce latency, minimize reliance on international transit, and strengthen local digital ecosystems across the continent.
