Open Access Data Centres (OADC), part of the WIOCC Group, has expanded its footprint in South Africa through the acquisition of seven data centres from NTT DATA South Africa, formerly managed by Internet Solutions.
The deal was finalized on December 31, 2025, marking a key milestone in the partnership between the two organizations.
Under the agreement, OADC has purchased the data centres and will lease them back to NTT DATA South Africa. The company will continue to serve as the primary client contact and maintain service delivery, while OADC will assume day-to-day operational management.
“NTT DATA’s local strategy focuses on divesting from non-core, asset-heavy facilities to better target integrated technology and managed colocation services. This transition is designed to be seamless for clients, ensuring uninterrupted services and consistent communication,” said Martin Springer, Senior Director of Infrastructure Solutions at NTT DATA South Africa.
Joshua Smythwood, Chief Strategy & M&A Officer at WIOCC Group, added: “This acquisition aligns with our broader Pan-Africa digital infrastructure strategy to expand data centre and connectivity operations. By managing these facilities, we enable NTT DATA to focus on client service, while OADC ensures scalable, future-ready data centre operations.”
The agreement does not impact NTT DATA’s Global Data Centre in Johannesburg 1, which will continue operating normally. NTT DATA remains committed to providing high-quality colocation, hosting, and managed services to support clients’ digital transformation and cloud initiatives.
