Liberia has officially launched a strategic roadmap aimed at guiding its digital transformation journey through 2029, with the goal of creating a more inclusive, secure, and innovative digital ecosystem for all Liberians.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to harnessing digital technologies to foster economic growth, improve public services, and bridge the digital divide.
According to the Liberian Telecommunications Authority (LTA), the strategy centers on eight key priority areas, including universal connectivity, digital inclusion, national digital addressing and postal reform, cybersecurity and data sovereignty, e-government, and ICT innovation. These priorities are structured around four strategic pillars designed to produce measurable and participatory outcomes, ensuring broad stakeholder engagement and tangible benefits for the population.
“The priorities outlined in this roadmap aim to deliver concrete and inclusive benefits by supporting economic development, enhancing public service delivery, fostering job creation, and reducing the digital divide–especially in rural areas and marginalized communities,” the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications stated in a recent release.
