Cassava Technologies, a pan-African technology group, announced a significant strategic partnership with STANLIB Infrastructure Investments to accelerate the expansion of Africa Data Centres’ footprint across South Africa. This collaboration aims to meet the surging demand for digital infrastructure driven by the region’s rapid digital transformation.
The investment will facilitate the development of AI-ready data centres at Africa Data Centers’ campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town, positioning the company to better serve hyperscalers and enterprise clients seeking secure, high-capacity connectivity and cloud services across the continent.
Hardy Pemhiwa, President & Group CEO of Cassava Technologies, highlighted that the partnership strengthens South African operations and provides the scale needed to support the region’s growing digital ecosystem: “it validates the robust foundation we’ve built and enables us to serve major hyperscalers and enterprises as they increase their demand for secure, high-capacity connectivity.”
“Our investment will strengthen South Africa’s digital backbone and contribute meaningfully to the country’s growth,” he said. “It aligns with our goal to be an economic enabler for South Africa by deploying capital that drives growth and offers institutional investors access to a unique asset class,” said Andy Louw, Co-Head at STANLIB Infrastructure Investments.
Africa Data Centers currently operates seven advanced facilities across Africa, serving over 400 enterprise and hyperscale customers. The company’s facilities are strategically located in South, East, and West Africa, providing essential data infrastructure for a wide range of businesses, from SMEs to global hyperscalers.
