Vertiv has announced a new partnership with Malawi-based company INTERNATIONAL CONTROL POWER SYSTEMS (IPCS), appointing IPCS as its official distribution partner in Malawi.
The collaboration aims to bolster the country’s digital and energy sectors by making Vertiv’s comprehensive range of solutions — including AC power systems, integrated racks, and IT infrastructure management tools — more accessible across Malawi.
Rumbidzai Bere, IPCS’s Business Development and Marketing Director, highlighted that this partnership will help expand IPCS’s portfolio and enable the delivery of scalable, robust solutions tailored to meet Malawi’s increasing digital and energy demands. Meanwhile, Gary Chomse, Vertiv’s Regional Director for Central and Southern Africa, described the alliance as a strategic move that reflects Vertiv’s dedication to the Malawian market and its commitment to investing in vital infrastructure.
The partnership aligns closely with Malawi’s National Compact for Energy, which aims to increase electricity access to 70% of the population by 2030. With a youthful and increasingly tech-savvy population, Malawi is poised for the adoption of advanced data centre solutions and AI-powered services. This collaboration is expected to provide the reliable energy and IT infrastructure necessary to power emerging industries and foster innovation across the country.
As part of its broader strategy to strengthen regional operations, Vertiv’s move into Malawi positions both companies to play a key role in the country’s ongoing digital and energy transformation, supporting Malawi’s ambitions for greater connectivity and technological advancement.
