Rack Centre has announced a strategic collocation partnership with TelCables Nigeria, a subsidiary of Angola Cables. This collaboration aims to enhance regional connectivity by integrating TelCables’ high-capacity network and cloud infrastructure directly into Rack Centre’s carrier ecosystem.
As part of the agreement, TelCables Nigeria is deploying diverse, redundant dark fibre rings into Rack Centre’s facility, ensuring continuous, reliable performance. Customers within the data centre will have access to scalable IaaS, PaaS, and CDN services, all within Nigeria’s data sovereignty boundaries, with payments made in local currency (naira).
The partnership provides direct on-ramps to major global cloud providers — including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud — supporting hybrid and multi-cloud strategies. It also offers dedicated internet access, IP transit, and remote internet exchange (IX) peering, along with low-latency routes to three continents. Notably, it features the only direct Africa-to-Latin America connection and offers some of the shortest routes to Europe and the USA, significantly improving international connectivity.
Rack Centre’s 13.5MW campus, featuring its recently launched LGS2 facility, is designed for high efficiency with a PUE of 1.35 and powered by sustainable energy sources. The facility already hosts more than 70 carriers, ISPs, and network operators, and is equipped with N+2 high-efficiency cooling systems, an integrated building management system, and AI-ready high-density racks.
This move aims to deliver the most resilient, low-latency southbound routes to Europe, the Americas, and Latin America — reducing the risk of future subsea cable outages along West Africa’s coast. It also supports next-generation cloud services across the region, positioning Rack Centre and TelCables Nigeria as key players in powering Africa’s digital transformation and global connectivity.
