Vertiv launches PowerSwitch 7000: next-generation static transfer switch for critical power reliability
Share on LinkedInShare on Twitter

Vertiv has announced the launch of the Vertiv™ PowerSwitch 7000, an advanced static transfer switch designed to enhance power reliability for data centres, financial institutions, and manufacturing facilities.

Available now across Europe, Middle East, and Africa, the system strengthens Vertiv’s comprehensive power solutions portfolio, ensuring continuous operation in mission-critical environments.

The PowerSwitch 7000 operates downstream from redundant UPS systems within dual-bus and reserve bus architectures, enabling seamless automatic transfers between power sources. Its internally redundant design eliminates single points of failure, providing robust backup for both single- and dual-corded loads.

Greg Hoge, Vertiv’s Global Product Management Director, highlighted its role in supporting data center growth by combining reliable switching, operational flexibility, maintenance simplicity, and intelligent diagnostics. Key features include a compartmentalized design for safety, front-access maintenance, flexible installation options, modular components for quick servicing, and a high-resolution touchscreen for diagnostics and root cause analysis. Remote monitoring is enabled via the UL2900-1 certified Vertiv™Intellislot™ RDU120 communication card, ensuring secure, real-time system oversight.

Seamlessly integrating with Vertiv’s broader power management ecosystem, the PowerSwitch 7000 is supported by Vertiv Global Services, offering expert project management, lifecycle support, and digital services to optimize reliability and minimize downtime in critical facilities.
