Wilo introduces ‘Auto Degassing’ Sinum Package to boost energy efficiency in heating and cooling

As building heating and cooling play a vital role in achieving Net Zero targets, Wilo has launched its latest innovation — the Sinum automatic de-aeration system. Designed to optimize building services, Sinum efficiently removes trapped air and ensures proper pressurization in sealed water systems.

Suitable for a wide range of applications — including rapidly expanding data centre sector — Sinum combines a pump unit with a pressureless expansion vessel to maintain consistent system pressure. It automatically expels air and solid particles (degassing), reducing energy consumption and enhancing system performance. The system also features automatic topping-up to maintain pressure, supports three selectable operation modes, and can seamlessly integrate with building management systems.

The compact footprint of Sinum offers a cost-effective solution that frees up space and improves efficiency compared to traditional degassing methods.

“Heating and cooling account for a significant share of global energy use and emissions — around half of the world’s final energy consumption and over 40% of energy-related CO₂ emissions. It’s crucial that new buildings implement highly efficient systems. Sinum minimizes pump workload by removing air and dirt from water, reducing energy consumption and supporting sustainability,” said Jason Cox, Sales Director at Wilo.

Equipped with an intuitive digital display for error alerts, a self-learning microprocessor, and a modular design for flexible installation, Sinum simplifies ongoing operation and maintenance. The pressureless expansion vessels are available in various sizes — from 100 to 10,000 liters — adhering to EN 13831 and AD2000 standards. The pump unit is offered as either mono or double configurations, tailored to system requirements.

“Sinum is the ideal solution when standard diaphragm expansion tanks reach their limits. Its advanced features–including volumetric controls and automatic water top-up–ensure long service life, reliable performance, and easy maintenance,” said Cox.
